Neckline guide

 Different factors determine the success of the garment and without any doubt neckline is one of them. Including neckline we do see the fabric, color, style, etc.,. Neckline is basically dependant on the size of the bust, neck type, shape of shoulders and most importantly whether it suits you or not. Many of us don't know all the neckline names for the piece of clothing we wear. So here is the guide which can help you to identify them.  

1Sweetheart neck

It is a distinctive heart-shaped style that perfectly enhances or creates illusion of curves. It's usually flattering because it accentuates the bustline in a modest way. It also lengthens a short neck and chin.





 2Straight neck

 It is a simple, strapless cut that flows   across   the chest. It is the wider and   graceful   neckline which shows your neck   bones and   makes you look cute and   stunning.




3. Scoop neck

 A scoop neckline is the one with  scoop shape which drops  significantly below the normal limits to display a bit of cleavage. It comes in variety of forms.



4. Halter  neck 

Halterneck  is a style of  women's clothing strap that runs from the front of the garment  around the  back of the neck leaving the upper back uncovered. It's great for showcasing shoulders and drawing the eye upward, creating a balancing effect. This style works for all body types but best if you have fuller busts.




5. V-neck

 A V-neckline is a very elegant and lovely look on variety of garments. It looks really good from a beautiful gown to a casual top. It's a garment that comes down to a point on the throat or chest, resembling the shape of letter 'V'.  




6. Off-shoulder neck 

The name itself tells that it is a wide open neckline exposing the shoulders. An off-shoulder neckline is much more flattering to broad shoulders which tightly clings the frame




 


7. Illusion neck

An illusion dress runs the gamut from ultra sexy to subtly sheer. It features the sheer or semi-sheer fabric which is often lace or tulle along with the top part of the bodice. It gives the illusion of a strapless dress
 




8. Round neck

The round neckline is also called as a crew neck. A basic and simple outfit which fits many different body shapes and the most common type of necklines. It makes you look cute and shapes your upper body.

  



9. Mock neck 

A mock-neck has a higher collar that goes all the way around the wearers neck and is not folded down. It show-offs your shoulders and makes you look fabulous.





10Plunging neck

 It is a very low cut line on a woman's garment. This neckline goes all the way to your chest and gives an illusion of a longer neck. It enhances the neck, beautifies your feminine aspects and a chic body plus your collar bones and cleavage are  highlighted in right proportions. 







11. Boat neck

A boat neckline is also called as a Sabrina neckline which is a wide neckline that runs horizontally, front, back and almost to the shoulder points across the collar bones. It is generally featured in elegant cocktail dresses and eveningwear. It is ideal for pear-shaped women.  





12. Asymmetric neck 

It a neckline whose one side is folded down while the other is fastened up. It adds a touch of quirkiness to any garment for various occasions yet a comfortable trendy top which is particularly eye -catching and versatile. It is perfect for those who want to show some skin but not too much.
